Saint Vincent de Paul is an organization whose mission is to help the poor people all over the world. Since three of us are of Sri Lankan origin, we decided to collect and donate summer clothes for this charity. When we ship the clothes to them, they have a used-clothes sale at their church. The money collected from this will be used to give dry ration hampers to poor families to last a week. The unsold clothes are given to the poor in the comunity, so nothing gets wasted. One of us has been doing this project for the last six years and they have been able to give about 200 hampers each Christmas. Our mission is to do this in a larger scale.
*NOTE*- We have finally found the money for shipping the clothes to Sri Lanka, thanks to Sonali Ranaweera!!! A bit about her and her charity(Recycling4Smiles), as well as a link to the charity website, is on this page.

With the help of all our doors and Sonali, we were able to ship more than 20 cubic feet of clothes to the Vincent De Paul Society of Galle, Sri Lanka for the year 2013. We are very proud that we were able to reach our goal. Thank you so much for your donation and please help us reach our 2014 goal of 25 cubic feet of clothes by donating your old clothes.
